Spring session classes are held on Saturdays for six weeks. Summer session classes are held Monday-Thursday for two weeks. All instructors are WSI certified and each class runs 30 minutes. Parent/Baby, Parent/Child, and levels 4-6 have a student/teacher ratio of 6:1, 幼儿园1-2级和1-3级的师生比例为4:1.

NDSU Swim Academy Information

  • Parent/Baby Level (Individuals 6 months-18months)
  • Parent/Child Level (Individuals 18 months-3 years)
  • Preschool Levels 1 through 2 (Individuals 3-5 years)
  • Levels 1 through 6 (Individuals five years of age and up)

Course Descriptions

Parent/Baby

Level Objective: Parent/Baby lessons are a unique bonding experience, 同时帮助培养对水的积极和持久的态度. 各种游戏和有趣的活动将帮助您的孩子在发现游泳基础的同时感到安全. 

Level Prerequisites: No skill prerequisites; children must be at least 6 months old and parent must accompany child to each class.

Parent/Child

Level Prerequisites: No skill prerequisites; children must be at least 12 months old and parent must accompany child to each class.

Preschool Level 1

Level Objective: In Level 1, 将使儿童熟悉水生环境,并帮助他们掌握基本的水生技能. 参与者将开始培养积极的态度和安全的做法在水和周围. 

等级先决条件:儿童年龄应在3岁或以上.

Preschool Level 2

Level 1 - Intro to Water Skills

Level 2 - Fundamental Aquatic Skills

Level 3 - Stroke Development

Level 4 - Stroke Improvement

Level Objective: In Learn-to-Swim Level 4—Stroke Improvement, 教练遵循一个计划,介绍新的游泳和水中安全技能, build on previously learned skills, 提高泳姿熟练程度,提高游泳距离. Introduction of all swim strokes. YMCA equivalent for Level 4 is otter.

Level 5 - Stroke Refinement

Level Objective: In Level 5—Stroke Refinement, 重点是帮助参与者提高所有六种泳姿的表现:爬泳, back crawl, butterfly, breaststroke, elementary back and sidestroke. YMCA equivalent for Level 5 is seal.

等级先决条件:学习游泳4级证书或证明所有完成4级要求. Participants should have a good understanding of all swim strokes.

Level 6 - Fitness Swimmer

Level Objective: In Level 6—Fitness Swimmer, as in all the other levels, instructors follow a plan to refine swimming, 在水中的身体健康和水的安全技能,在整个级别教授. The expectations are quite high regarding distance and quality. Additionally, in Fitness Swimmer, 参与者学习训练的原则和如何评估自己的健康水平.
